Grand Gathering with ZRGP at All Energy 2022

The ZRGP residential and commercial energy storage products were under the spotlight including wall-mounted battery 5.12kW, modular battery system 5.12-40.96kWh, the basic battery system, PowerBase FC, and lastly and most popularly, the All-in-one system PowerBase Max-X.

Production of ZRGP PowerBase Mate

​A big day for ZRGP as our PowerBase Mate Energy Storage System was ready to leave the warehouse.

 

ZRGP PowerBase Mate

As a ZRGP UL9540A – certified BESS home energy storage system, Mate is our most classic product, featuring a modular LV design, LFP cells, 8000 cycle life, and scalability to meet the needs of businesses and homes of all sizes.

• Between 2 to 8 battery modules can be used in a single stack to give 10.24 to 40.96kWh usable capacity;

• Up to 15 stacks can be connected in parallel to give a maximum 614.4kWh usable capacity;

• Additional modules or parallel stacks can be added at any time to increase capacity.

 

Battery Cell

ZRGP energy storage systems adopt A-Grade LFP Cells featuring high energy density, highest-level safety, longest service life. And the standardized square batteries are easy to stack and splice.

 

  • Service life: After 8000 times of charge and discharge, it can maintain no less than 80% of the battery capacity
  • High energy density: Can reach more than 135kWh/kg
  • Long service life: The service life of a single cell is up to 8000 charge-discharge cycles
  • Charge and discharge rate: Up to 2c strength
  • Safety: Even if it is forced to cause an internal short circuit or the possibility of rupture or fire is extremely low, the battery has passed the needle penetration test

The laser welding process ensures the battery connection is reliable and the module has high reliability and long service life.

 

Battery Module

Each module of PowerBase Mate system built-in BMS, and ZRGP energy storage systems are designed as a three-layer energy management system. Your battery system will get strong protection, high reliability, and long cycle life.

 

Professional BMS:

  • Temperature management: Single-cell temperature control, temperature difference control between cells balance management: maintain the consistency of related parameters between cells
  • Protection function: Overcurrent/overvoltage/undervoltage/overtemperature/communication fault protection
  • Troubleshooting: Determine the type of battery fault and handle it accordingly
  • Communication function: CAN bus, RS485

 

Aging test on lithium battery pack

The first role is conducive to the stability of the performance of the lithium battery pack. The second is to select the consistency of the lithium battery pack after aging for a period of time.

Will solar energy stop working if the sun is still shining?

A common misconception about solar system is that during a power outage or grid failure, the solar system will continue to provide power to loads. After all, if the sun is shining, shouldn’t the system still work?

In fact, due to the nature of grid-tie solar systems and how they are designed, all power output to the grid must cease during an outage. There are, however, two exceptions to this: your system is equipped with energy storage, or you forgo the benefits of grid-tied solar and opt for an off-grid system.

 

Grid-Tied Solar System without Energy Storage
Residential solar without storage is designed to shut down during a power outage as most customers have grid-tied systems in their homes.In most of the world, all inverters that back-feed the grid must conform to “anti-islanding” requirements. Anti-islanding simply means that the inverter stops grid-feed-in when the grid experiences abnormal conditions (frequency/voltage) and/or in the event there is a complete power outage. The purpose of this is to protect line workers or electricians who may be trying to make repairs to the grid. This is mandated for all grid-tie systems. 

 

Grid-Tied Solar System with Energy Storage

If you want to guarantee that your solar system will continue to operate during a blackout, adding a battery storage system is the way to go. These storage units save energy produced from solar panels for later use. When there is a power outage, the combined solar plus storage unit isolates itself from the grid and immediately continues power supply to the home—providing the uninterrupted electricity service you need during times of crisis.

The battery-based system can fool the grid-tied system into thinking the grid is still functional, while also disconnecting from the grid to comply with anti-islanding. This still allows for solar productivity to feed loads and charge batteries during a grid-down situation.
